The SNEN System - Attributes
Flexible Architecture
Sopra Newell & Budge and IIZUKA Software Technologies designed the 101 Service architecture to be available over the Internet, independent of location and highly secure.
The architecture was designed in conjunction with the Northumbria Partnership to provide an acceptable balance between cost, performance and resilience.
The architecture is highly scalable with future infrastructure elements able to be added without discarding any existing infrastructure.
Subsequently The SNEN System architecture is sufficently flexible to meet the evolving needs of the 101 Programme across all three Waves.
Security
Sopra Newell & Budge's security consultants, accredited under the government's Communications Electronics Security Group (CESG) Listed Adviser Scheme (CLAS), carried out a security risk assessment to determine the UK Government Protective Marking Scheme rating the application should be allocated. The application was determined to have a protective marking of RESTRICTED.
Sopra Newell & Budge provided the security infrastructure to ensure that The SNEN System application was compliant with its RESTRICTED protective marking, including a secure two-factor authentication system.
Application security testing was also carried out to confirm that the application was written securely and again met with the protective marking rating.
Finally the The SNEN System application was independently penetration tested.
Hosting
Sopra Newell & Budge have implemented and, in partnership with IIZUKA Software Technologies, now support on a 24x7 basis, a fully managed hosted solution for the Northumbria Partnership 101 system.
The system comprises of development, testing, training and production environments located at two independent data centres. The dual hosting locations provide disaster recovery options for use in the event of a catastrophic failure.
101 Service partners are able to access the system securely using a fault-tolerant Internet connection.
Ongoing Support
Sopra Newell & Budge and IIZUKA Software Technologies are providing 24 hours 7 days a week support service for The SNEN System to the Northumbria Partnership’s 300 plus users who access the system from distributed locations.
